f you’ve never heard of it, Budva is a coastal town in Montenegro known for its charming Old Town, sandy beaches, and lively nightlife scene.
If you can spend a long weekend here, you cannot miss Kotor, a picturesque town nestled in a stunning bay, famous for its well-preserved Old Town, medieval architecture, and panoramic views from the Kotor Fortress.
And if you squeeze enough time you should visit Lovćen National Park, Lake Skadar and Tara River Canyon.

Anytime between May and October is a great time, but if you want to enjoy a summer weekend I would go between June and September.

If you are passionate about snorkelling and diving this is a great spot. Staying in Bunaken island would be great but not necessary, you can even stay in one of the close islands or in Manado on the north coast. This is because Bunaken is just 15 minutes by boat from the mainland, and most hotels (eg. Thalassa) organise daily trips to Bunaken.

You don’t need an itinerary to visit Bunaken, but you do if you want to visit North Sulawesi in general. However, if you’ll go to this area I would aasuggest you to add to your itinerary a boat day to each island (Bunaken, Siladen, Manadotua), a visit to the Tangkoko National Park and to Tomohon. And if you can squeeze in a few more days you could visit Gangga Island too.
